TSMC created a mobile processor at 3.1GHz

The mobile processor architecture is changing rapidly - until 2010, the single-core 1GHz Snapdragon processor on the Nexus One was a technological marvel. Now they belong to the past with quad-core processors to be in most new handset market, but the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) seems to be pushing things even further.

Recently announced the creation of an ARM Cortex-A9 processor test technology 28nm, which can reach up to 3.1GHz under normal operating conditions. The processor has a large speed range, typically between 1.5 and 2.0 GHz, but can reach 3.1GHz on "use of high returns."Although it is not known when the TSMC will start producing and distributing such speed processors, the company's announcement demonstrates the importance of technology in the 28nm manufacturing process of the mobile industry.

Nvidia GeForce GTX 690 dual GPU, announced the fastest graphics card in the world

Pleasant news for demanding gamers,as Nvidia announced the fastest graphics card in the world, Nvidia GeForce GTX 690, which features dual graphics processor (dual GPU) and in some cases offers twice the speed than the previous GTX 680.

The design of the GTX 690 is also unique, with an aluminum lid, magnesium and interior vertical fan so that air is evenly distributed for optimal cooling of the card, while remaining fairly quiet despite the fact that it operates at 3,000 revolutions per minute ( rpm). Even for those with transparent boxes, Nvidia has added a special touch to the lighted logo "GeForce GTX".

The availability of Nvidia GeForce GTX 690 will be launched in limited numbers by the May 3, so it will be a good choice for demanding games. However, the downside is that it costs $ 999.

Moreover, Nvidia announced the service GeForce Experience, an effort to improve the quality of gaming to those who do not want or know what the appropriate settings for each game.

Essentially, this is a database of video cards, processors and other computer parts, where the user selects what they have, and the service automatically adjusts the system to the ideal situation depending on the game chosen by the user. The beta version of the GeForce Experience is expected to run from June 6.

Intel officially introduced its new generation of Ivy Bridge processors

intel Ivy Bridge

Intel officially announced its new line of processors Ivy Bridge architecture with 22-nanometer offering to start the 13th quad-core processors on variations of Core i5 and i7 with a focus desktops and large notebooks. The dual-core processors and lower power ULV expected later in the spring.

The company notes that Ivy Bridge have about 20 percent better performance and 20 percent fewer than the current Sandy Bridge which is achieved partly thanks to the transition to 3D transistors that allows a unique combination of performance and energy efficiency. Significant improvement is also observed in the integrated graphics HD2500 and HD4000, since the latter can handle comfortably and 4K resolution and games of last generation with sufficient detail. Finally, Ivy Bridge is the first Intel architecture that natively support the standard USB 3.0 for faster and requires no third-party controller.

The gradual movement of Ivy Bridge is expected to launch and the launch of new computers from all major manufacturers such as HP, Lenovo, Samsung and Apple. Some analysts believe that there is limited availability of at least the first time due to high demand which is primarily a result of late presentation.

Intel expects laptops with retina screens by 2013

Portable devices like the new iPad tend to use screens with high resolution and density pixel, but so far laptops and desktops do not offer comparable quality. Intel believes that this situation will change soon. In the Developer Forum in Beijing, Intel said that by 2013, larger devices will display a corresponding quality of Retina too.

The statement shall include devices such ultrabooks 11 inches with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 up to desktops 21 inch screen with 3840 x 2160. Of course these features will not be as dense as the new iPad (which features 2048 x 1536 resolution in 9.7-inch screen) but this is mainly due to the fact that the largest devices have made their screen at a typical viewing distance.

For example, the user is approximately 60 cm from a desktop, while this distance is halved when using smartphone. However, such a change would require operating systems that can support high resolutions, something that at least Microsoft is trying to achieve with Windows 8.

New MacBooks with Retina screen this summer

There is no turning back to the screen resolution after the release of the new iPad, but the iPhone 4 and 4S and several Android devices qHD resolution or better, so Apple may be preparing a similar experience for their computers. The next generation of MacBook computers may be using high-definition Retina display, according to a recent publication of Ars Technica.

The company's new computers will probably be released in the summer as sources of the site, one of which found twice in the last graphic preview of OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. "We interpret that the Retina [MacBook] is near, probably simultaneously with the release of OS X 10.8", said the anonymous source. Apple is expected to launch a revamped series laptop this summer, including thinner MacBook Pro 13 - and 15-inch.

The flying drones which The pirate bay is going to use real exist

drones

Remember the plans of The Pirate Bay to set up servers in the sky ... literally? If you think this will remain on paper, think again as the technology exists to implement this.

Specifically, the Project "Electronic Countermeasures" has already built five fully functional drones capable of such sharing by throwing together broadcast network and Wi-Fi.

This way users can upload files, photos and exchange data between them as airborne drones. Users can interact with this portable facilities at any time.

Of course, a practical application of this system will be slow. Initially the cost of these machines is very high ($1975 per drone), are made of aluminum to keep the GPS signal and other wireless accessories. Their flight is made possible by four Roxxy Brushless Motors powered by two batteries of 2,200 mAh.

At present, the project intends to continue working on the improvement of adding more drones in the "flock" and extending the wireless signal range.

New Seagate technology enables hard drives up to 60TB

seagete hard drive

Seagate announced a major achievement which we could achieve an increase in the capacity of hard drives from 3TB to 60TB in the next ten years.

Specifically, the magnetic recording technology through heat (IAMR) Seagate was the first maker of hard disk capacity achieved density of 1 terabit per square inch.

Mark Re, vice president of Heads & Media Research and Development at Seagate, explains that the technology innovation IAMR will be an important factor in the expansion of capacity in the future.

The current maximum capacity of 3.6-inch disk reaches approximately 3TB of 620 gigabits per square inch while the 2.5-inch drives 750GB touch with 500 gigabits per square inch.

It is expected that the first generation of HAMR drives will double these capacities with a significant increase in the coming years thanks to growth capacity that we have seen to date.

Intel Atom Rosepoint, next generation CPUs with integrated digital tuner WiFi!

Intel is preparing a new generation dual-core processor Intel Atom, codenamed Rosepoint, which is made in 32nm and has 2.4GHz built-in WiFi digital tuner, unlike current chips using analog.

This implies a significant improvement in energy consumption, lower manufacturing costs (and thus lower cost of the final device), and more reliable connections WiFi.

According to Justin Rattner, CTO Intel,

"Approaching the digital antenna WiFi, we can bring the benefits of Moore's Law in radio circuits"

The big challenge for the creation of Intel Rosepoint was to find a way to avoid any interference of radio waves with the processor, which Intel has managed with noise cancellation techniques and methods of electromagnetic shielding.

At present, there are original Intel Rosepoint operating normally, but mass production will start in 2015.

Faster data storage on hard disks using heat!

International scientific team discovered a new method of data storage on magnetic media using heat, which allows hundreds of times faster recording than present devices.

Instead of using a magnetic field, scientists were able to burn using only heat, successfully enroll several terabytes of data persecond. Considering that the fastest SSD now reach 500MB / s, we understand what a huge difference we can do.

Moreover, in the absence of magnetic field, and significantly reduced energy requirements something that is expected to make future storage devices not only very much faster and more efficient.

Of course, it's still too early to know when will be marketed hard drives of this technology or about how much they will cost.

Lightning Bolt, the alternative technology of AMD against Intel Thunderbolt

lighting bolt

The technology Intel Thunderbolt was first used by Apple (the preference of the USB 3.0) and other manufacturers have already begun to use it on their devices (see Lenovo, Acer), but it seems that AMD wants to offer even a option, which called Lightning Bolt.

It is obvious from the name that is a lighter version of the Thunderbolt, AMD seek the unification of various expenses (outputs) in a slot, while reducing costs.

In terms of design, the final output the notebook will have the form miniDisplayPort and act as a power connector, USB 3.0 and DisplayPort, while the cable is connected to a docking station, which will also include various connectors (power, USB 3.0, DisplayPort).

However, unlike the Thunderbolt, will support the interconnection of multiple devices, and the speed that provides the USB 3.0 well be greater than USB 2.0, but not at full levels of technology.

Whatever has, AMD wants to fly the Lightning Bolt in all consumer devices at the end of 2012, betting on low cost, but since the Thunderbolt has already taken the lead and gradually reduce its costs, it will be difficult (as such) to achieve.
