New cloud call translator service from DoCoMo

The popular Japanese mobile operator NTT DoCoMo introduced a very interesting new service that provides translation of speech in real time via telephone. The user normally speak (language) and the caller hears the message line translated to another language of his choice.


The new service is a combination of many cloud-based services such as speech recognition, machine translation and translation of the results of the translation from text to speech. The talks are quite natural (with processing time of about 2 seconds) with the accuracy rate of the service reaches 90%.


Currently the service supports English, Japanese and Korean, and soon to be extended to other languages.
