One month after the release of the new iPad, new rumors have erupted on a smaller tablet designed to compete with the Kindle Fire in Amazon.

News reports indicate that Apple plans to produce 6 million smaller iPad aimed at their disposal in the third quarter. The report comes from the Chinese site NetEase, while the translation was done by Kotaku.
The article of NetEase is based on the "various media from Taiwan" and cites Apple's orders to various manufacturers in the region, such as Honhai Precision (Foxconn) and Pegatron.

This news comes a month after the article of The Korea Times that Samsung will supply Apple with the new PLS-based LCD technology for smaller iPad. An anonymous Samsung executive pointed out in The Korea Times that Apple plans to release a smaller iPad, probably 7.86-inch in 2012. The current iPad has a 9.7-inch screen.

Despite recent reports, there are several reasons to be skeptical about such a move by Apple. Originally rumors about a smaller iPad begun in early 2010 where the first generation iPad was released, but never confirmed. Meanwhile, the founder of Apple, Steve Jobs, had spoken earlier about the derogatory tablet 7 inches, and argued that it is too big to compete with the smartphone and very small against the iPad. Finally, Apple will likely kannivalisei normal sales iPad with a smaller circulation.
