CES 2012 was a good opportunity for Texas Instruments to show off the new series processor TI OMAP 5, and even announced that it has already begun shipments to manufacturers of devices (smartphones, tablets and Ultrabooks) to incorporate them into their devices.
Vice President of the company, Remi El-Ouazzane, described the new series of processors as the best in the world, revealed that the TI OMAP 5 consists of two Cortex-A15 cores clocked at 800MHz, attach equivalent to two Cortex A9 at 1.5GHz, resulting in better performance ratio and autonomy.
The icing on the cake was a prototype device running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which could play without a hitch 720p video at 30fps, up to 1080p at 64fps!
Finally, we report that was tested successfully on original devices running Windows 8, while the first devices with TI OMAP 5 will come to market at the end of 2012.
