Microsoft blocks the Pirate Bay in Windows Live Messenger

The problems facing the Pirate Bay with the law is admittedly a lot but the list seems to have no end. Apart from the various ISPs to restrict access to the most popular torrent site on the planet comes into play and the Microsoft.

Specifically, Microsoft seems to preclude any reference to the Internet address of the Pirate Bay's popular service via Windows Live Messenger (MSN) by blocking the respective links.

Basically, if you try to send a link to the Pirate Bay to a contact in your MSN you will see the following warning message and the link will never reach the recipient.

According to reports the same thing occurs in other applications such as Pidgin, if account is used Live Messenger.

The tactics Microsoft has raised some questions as to the legality of the ban and such monitoring as well as to the motive. It seems that only the Pirate Bay is what is blocked and no other known torrent site. It will not be known nor why this is censorship, but we imagine that relates to copyright alone the spectacle of companies struggling to protect in every way.

The Pirate Bay is preparing to set up servers in the sky!

The resourcefulness of the group The Pirate Bay has no limit, as announced through the official blog that they will begin testing for "setup" server in the sky ...., giving literal meaning to the term cloud computing!

the pirate bay

Specifically, they want to exploit the technology of mini computers Raspberry Pi * and set up servers (LOSS - Low Orbit Server Systems) that will hover at a height so that the counter-piracy authorities having to resort to the use of airplanes to their closure.

"With the development of such suspended devices, which will be controlled by GPS and using tiny computers such as Raspberry Pi, will experiment by sending them a few miles high in the sky. In this way, the only way to shut the system nobody will be using airplanes. A true act of war. We're still in the beginning, so we have not found exactly how. However, we can not limit ourselves now in the inland "

The logic followed is quite similar to that of the pirate radio stations of the 60's, who resorted to sea to avoid the intervention of the authorities. However, it seems very distant and the realization of the idea:

"These systems LOSS is only the first attempt. With modern technology we can reach 100Mbps per node at a distance of 50km. For the system we build, is more than enough. But when the time comes, we will have such systems in all parts of the galaxy, verifying the slogan that we are the most durable system in the galaxy. And all the places we use for building the system will be available for download "

* Integrated computer Tiny Linux PC, which comes in two versions at prices $ 25 / $ 35.

The type A has Broadcomm 700MHz processor with Videocore 4 GPU, memory, RAM 256MB, connectors HDMI, SD, USB 2.0, RCA video, 3.5mm audio, while the supply is via microUSB connector. It also provides support OpenGL ES 2.0, hardware-accelerated OpenVG and playback Full HD video 1080p. The type B has an extra slot and USB 2.0 10/100.

Removal of the torrents from Pirate Bay on 29 February!

The popular website The Pirate Bay announced that as of February 29 will cease to offer files for download. Torrent, deleting many of them shared by more than 10 users.

Nevertheless, the announcement is not related to the possible closure of the website but the decision to replace the specific type of file called magnet links (already offered on site by default against the torrents).

In practice, the process of using the service remains the same, while the only change that might be the time to start the download. This is because the magnet links require a few seconds more until you start downloading, and especially in cases where files are shared between a limited number of users.

On the other hand, the existence of magnet links contribute significantly to the discharge of the web servers with an indicative example of the portability of the entire contents of the site on a USB stick! Moreover, the transition to type the file Pirate Bay will be able to avoid any legal problems, no longer hosting files that lead to illegal content.
