Apple released the iOS 5.1!

After the launch of the new iPad, Apple released the new version of mobile operating iOS 5.1. The new version offers users:
The support of Siri and Japanese.
Photos can now be deleted from the Photo Stream.
New shortcuts in the Lock Screen for the camera (iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 4G)
To face detection now recognizes all persons in the Camera app.
New UI for the camera app iPad.
Genius Mixes and Genius playlist for subscribers iTunes Match.
Fix some bugs affecting the battery.
Fix a problem that sometimes affect the sound during a call.

Vulnerability in iOS gives applications access to the user's photos

In order not to think that not only the Android OS has security flaws, the turn came to go to the forums problems iOS, and no "hole" that allows applications to access the address books of users, without requiring authorization from the user while some of them get access to secret photos of the device and upload to remote server, just give the user permission to use location.




The reference was from the NY Times, which hosts the statements David E. Chen, co-founder of Curio (developers of applications iOS):



"Theoretically, an application that accesses data on the location of the device could monitor the progress of the user from the download site photos. The history of sites, as well as photos and videos, could climb to a server. Once the information 'escape' from the device, Apple has no way to limit their use or who went to watch "


This problem has been reported since 2010 with the release of iOS 4, but Apple has refused to comment on the issue. However, it does not clarify whether in fact there are applications to users upload images to a server, and if there were reasonable they would not get approval from the App Store.
