EU Commissioner: Almost impossible to pass the bill of ACTA

In a speech given last Friday, the European Commissioner, responsible for the Digital Agenda, Neelie Kroes, said the agreement against piracy ACTA (Anti-Coutnerfeiting Trade Agreement) is unlikely to become reality:

"Probably there will be no SOPA and ACTA. We need to find other solutions to make the Internet a place of freedom and innovation for all citizens "

Although signed by 22 Member States of the European Union (as well as from USA, Canada, Japan, etc.), the agreement should be approved by the European Commission in order to become law.

The agreement is currently being investigated in depth by the Court of Justice, as there are concerns that conflicts with what is established by the European Privacy Law. Indeed, last month the European Data Protection Supervisor, Peter Hustinx, has published a document detailing 20selido shortcomings of ACTA.

However, it is likely that future will see a corresponding law for issues concerning the Internet, such as piracy. The Neelie Kroes she said in her speech:

"Yes, the Internet should be open and should be free. But this is different from being turned into a Wild West with no laws. "

How A filled iPod costs $ 8 billion [Video]

The past several months we dealt with the bills SOPA / PIPA / ACTA, etc., but after the temporary postponement of the vote, the noise has subsided.

However, at the TED Conference last week, Rob Reid (comic writer and founder of the subscription music service Rhapsody) sought to restore the case to the fore, exposing the false propaganda of anti-piratical principles in terms of economic losses.

As you will see the following video, Reid creates a new field of research with the aptly titled Copyright Math (TM), and based on the logic of the affected companies that demonstrate a full iPod contains songs worth $ 8 billion!

It is worth spending 5 minutes to see the video:
